  • Results provide professionals with information needed to assist students in coping with demands at school that could lead to underachievement or the development of emotional and behavioral problems

  • Interpersonal
  • Intrapersonal
  • General Mood
  • Stress Management

Reports

Profile Reports summarize the results of an individual administration, providing scores for all scales.

Interpretive Reports provide detailed information about scores from a single administration, presented both numerically and graphically. An individual’s scores are compared to those in the normative sample and elevations at the scale and subscale level are indicated.

How To use

There are two versions of the EQ–i:YV—the original full–length version and the short version (EQ–i: YV[S]). The full–length version of the EQ–i:YV provides scores for all of the scales, as well as the two validity scales. It is recommended for initial evaluations because it provides a broader assessment of functioning.

The EQ–i: YV(S) provides scores for all the scales on the full–length version, with the exception of the General Mood scale and the Inconsistency Index. It is ideal for repeat administrations to measure the effectiveness of interventions, and is also used as a screening instrument to identify possible problem areas.

Reliability and Validity

The EQ–i:YV has been subjected to numerous validity studies that demonstrate the appropriateness of the scale structure, both empirically and theoretically. The EQ–i:YV assessment is recommended for both clinical and research environments. Construct validity and detailed data are presented in the EQ–i:YV Technical Manual on factor analysis, correlation with the EQ–i®, correlation with other measures believed to tap similar or related constructs (e.g., NEO–FFI and CDI), and intercorrelations between the various EQ–i:YV scales.

Normative Data

The normative sample for the EQ–i:YV consists of a large number of children and teenagers from elementary, middle, and high schools across North America. Norms are presented separately for boys and girls in four age intervals.
